Gel electrolyte
batteries are maintenance-free gel cell batteries that combine cycling
ability with sealed, spill-proof construction.
These
valve-regulated, gel electrolyte batteries are designed to offer
reliable, maintenance-free power for applications where deep cycling
or float service is required.
Safe to ship
- Safe in warm weather
The polypropylene
container is rated by ICAO, IATA and DOT for safe air transportation.
The gelled electrolyte prevents stratification, and reduces gassing
by trapping bubbles. This improves the battery performance in warm
temperatures, making them an excellent choice for stand-alone solar
home power, rural telephone, monitoring, lighting and communications
systems.
Features:
· Minimal maintenance, never needs water
· Shock absorbent thick wall polypropylene cases
· High purity lead calcium-tin alloy grids (patented)
· Classified as nonhazardous, nonrestricted for surface transport
· Safe for air transportation (IATA A-67)
· Non-spillable
· Recombination reaction (recombinant battery) prevents escape
of hydrogen and oxygen gases normally lost in flooded lead-acid
batteries
· Great for deep-cycle applications
· May be operated in virtually any position (upside-down
is not recommended)

About Gel
Batteries
Gel electrolyte
batteries are valve regulated lead-acid. In a gel battery, the electrolyte
does not flow like a normal liquid. The electrolyte has the consistency
and appearance of petroleum jelly. These are considered "non-spillable".
The "acid-starved"
condition of gel and AGM batteries protects the plates during heavy
deep-discharges. The gel battery is more starved than an AGM battery,
giving more protection to the plate; therefore, it is better suited
for super-deep discharge applications.
