NULIGHT SOLUTIONS INTRODUCES REDESIGNED FAN-ATTIC
Solar-Powered Attic Fan Ventilates Hot and Humid Attics, Conserves More Energy, Saves More Money on Soaring Energy Bills

April 19, 2004 -- San Jose, CA -- NuLight Solutions, the makers of the Solar Powered Fan-Attic ventilation system are introducing vastly improved version of their successful attic ventilation product.

"Since 1998, we’ve sold over 10,000 Fan-Attics in the US and Canada," said Mark Edwards, general manager of NuLight Solutions. "With energy costs rising, and more people looking to save money, we knew it was time to take a look at new solar technologies and integrate them into the product."

The new, improved Fan-Attic has a completely re-engineered solar panel constructed with high strength tempered glass, commercial grade high-powered solar cells, and white Tedlar substrate. This proprietary configuration is engineered to improve cell cooling, and increase the panel lifespan to 25 years or more. The new 12.77 watt panel is also more powerful and generates 21.9 Volts at peak sunlight. The old Fan-Attic had an 11-watt panel and generated 17 Volts.

"The new Fan-Attic generates more power in the early morning and late afternoon hours," said Brian Edwards, NuLight Solutions vice-president. This will allow the Fan-Attic to work far longer into the afternoon when the sun is at its hottest."

Engineer Garrett Gettleman of Solar Electric Supply, said, "We specifically designed NuLight Solutions' new custom glass solar module to provide peak performance in a variety of temperatures and conditions. Total power output has been increased by over 20%, outperforming the leading competitor's solar attic fan by more than 22%. The custom solar module and redesigned fan shroud have been specifically engineered to work as a modular unit. This configuration is easy to service, maximizes cooling of the solar module, and increases airflow during high heat conditions."

The Fan-Attic installs in 30 minutes on most roofs. The product will easily ventilate a 1200 square-foot attic space and generate 800 Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM) at peak sunlight. People with larger attics often purchase a unit for each end of the roof. "By allowing the sun to turn the unit on and off, we allow Mother Nature to regulate when the unit operates," said Mark Edwards. "Our whisper-quiet technology allows you to install the Fan-Attic right over your bedroom, and you won't hear a sound."

The Importance of Attic Ventilation
Proper ventilation extends the life of your roof and makes your home more comfortable and energy efficient. In the summer, attic temperatures can soar to over 150-degrees Fahrenheit. This makes your home hotter inside and increases the level of energy consumption created by cooling and air-conditioning equipment. Hot, moist air can also create a breeding ground for mold and mildew under your eaves. According to Mark Edwards, "HVAC installers have developed a liking for the Fan-Attic. When they install a Fan-Attic, the air conditioner works half as much as it would without the Fan-Attic pulling hot air from the attic space."

Upgrade program for existing customers
The suggested retail price for the Fan-Attic remains $365. Existing customers who want to upgrade their Fan-Attics can purchase an upgrade kit for $75 — a savings of 100%. "We're aware that a lot of our existing customers will want to take advantage of the upgrade," said Mark Edwards. "That's why we're making the upgrade available at such a low price."
