It may also work as a replacement for an SM50-H although it is 4 inches longer and about 1.2V higher, the width is the same as the SM50-H. With the same 13.7" width, it will fit into many existing mounts. Compare to the Siemens SM55 / Shell SM55 This solar module uses multicrystalline technology. Encapsulation beneath high transmission tempered glass is accomplished using an advanced, UV resistant thermal setting plastic. The ethylene vinyl acetate encapsulant cushions the solar cells within the laminate and protects the cells from etching. The rear surface of the module is completely sealed from moisture and mechanical damage by a continuous high strength polymer sheet. The XC55s uses a reinforced anodized aluminum frame like the original Siemans equivalent. These are designed to meet our high quality standards for corrosion resistance. The standard junction box makes wiring a snap for anybody familiar with the Siemens Solar Powermax SM55.
