MAPPS® Pole Mount NEMA Enclosure Solar Battery System
Pole-mounted NEMA rated enclosure solar system designed for long life in harsh weather climates.
When one of the world's largest utilities needs their remote power problems solved, they turn to Solar Electric Supply! We were asked to provide a solar power solution for a utility smart gas meter reader MDS radio communication system. This is a radio communication system for automatically reading PG&E gas "Smart Meters" at customer facilities. These are deployed in urban areas to read residential and commercial smart meters. The MAPPS systems are placed on PG&E owned light poles and utility towers and power the radios that gather the local data and send back to headquarters for billing. SES designed special mounting brackets to accommodate the various pole sizes. This particular system is called the MAPPS 90-108-12, with optional DC to AC sine wave inverter.
The main components supplied by Solar Electric Supply consist of:

- Deka sealed gel deep-cycle solar battery for 12 VDC nominal
- NEMA 3 or NEMA 4 weatherproof enclosure
