How do I get a quote for my project?

solar power quote1. First look into any available State Solar Rebate programs. These are typically managed by your local utility company. These rebates can cover 50% or more of the cost of the system, greatly improving the payback of your solar system investment. Without them, your payback could be 15 years or more unless you are paying more than 20 cents per kWhr. If your utility has a program, contact the solar program administrator directly and see if they have money available and what the procedures are for applying for the rebate. Click here for State Solar Rebate Programs.

2. Go to your local planning/building department to determine what wind, weight and spacing guidelines. They may require to issue an installation permit for your roof or ground mounted system.

3. Contact your utility to get your kWhr electricity usage for the last year. This will help us decide which system can supply 50-90% of your electrical needs.

4. Determine the available unshaded (from 9am-5pm) roof or ground space you have available that is either South or West facing. Measure the available space, pitch of the roof and note any potential shading objects.

5. Call us toll-free for assistance at (877) 297-0014 to help determine the system you need, or select one of our preconfigured systems above.

6. After you've selected a system, we need you to do a solar module placement diagram in your available roof or ground space(s) Click here for sample drawings.

a. Do a simple hand sketch or drawing showing the dimensions of your available roof or ground space(s).
b. Draw in each of the solar modules as rectangles in either portrait or landscape mode using the solar module dimensions provided in our system details page. To see examples of these drawings, click here.
c. Show the joists or rafters if you can with their spacing. Stay away from trees, fireplaces or vents that would shade any protion of the solar array from 9AM-5PM.
d. Use a compass and include the orientation of the roof and the pitch or tilt angle.
e. You will use this same drawing to get your building permit along with the engineering information we will provide you. See examples of these drawings: click here.

7. Fax or email us this drawing along with your complete contact information and zip code and we will quote you a complete customized system delivered to your doorstep or nearest freight terminal.
