Deka Sealed
Gel Cell Batteries
The best battery for remote area solar applications.
The
East-Penn Deka line of sealed gel cell batteries are field-proven
with tens of thousands of solar installations all over the world.
These perform well in cold and hot climates. In cold climates, their
capacity loss is minimized due to low temperatures. In hot weather
climates, these outlast traditional AGM batteries due to the Deka
gel electrolyte formula.
Perfect for
maintenance-free applications
The Deka Solar
battery series of valve-regulated, gel electrolyte batteries are
designed to offer reliable, maintenance-free power for solar energy
applications where frequent deep cycles are required and minimum
maintenance is desirable.
Applications:
Remote Residential
- Communications - Water Pumping - Cathodic Protection - Remote
Monitoring - Vaccine Refrigeration - Tower Obstruction Lighting
- SCADA - RTU - Wind Power LED Beacons - Wind Generation - DC UPS
- and Much More!
Features:
· Minimal maintenance, never needs water
· Shock absorbent thick wall polypropylene cases
· High purity lead calcium-tin alloy grids (patented)
· Classified as non-hazardous, non-restricted for surface
transport
·
Safe for air transportation (IATA A-67)
· Non-spillable
· Recombination reaction (recombinant battery) prevents escape
of hydrogen and oxygen gases normally lost in flooded lead-acid
batteries
· Great for deep-cycle applications
· May be operated in virtually any position (upside-down
is not recommended)

About Gel
Batteries
Gel electrolyte
batteries are valve regulated lead-acid. In a gel battery, the electrolyte
does not flow like a normal liquid. The electrolyte has the consistency
and appearance of petroleum jelly. These are considered "non-spillable".
The "acid-starved"
condition of gel and AGM batteries protects the plates during heavy
deep-discharges. The gel battery is more starved than an AGM battery,
giving more protection to the plate; therefore, it is better suited
for super-deep discharge applications.
