aHub Expansion Unit Technical Review
The aHub provides a unified interface for multiple AC-coupled solar arrays, backup generators, and V2L-capable vehicles. The four-port architecture offers exceptional flexibility: Port 1 dedicated to Smart Circuits, Ports 2 and 3 supporting PV or Smart Circuit configurations, and Port 4 accommodating generator, V2L, PV, or Smart Circuit connections. This configurable design enables installers to adapt the system to diverse site requirements and homeowner needs. The 24 kW total solar capacity across three independent arrays supports both high-capacity single-array installations and multi-roof-plane configurations common in complex residential architecture.
Smart Circuits functionality with programmable scheduling through the FranklinWH App provides sophisticated load management, enabling homeowners to prioritize critical loads during extended outages or optimize energy consumption patterns for time-of-use rate structures. The 10 kA short-circuit current rating and OVC III over-voltage category demonstrate robust electrical protection suitable for professional installations with 125A maximum upstream protection devices.
